Armature Works is an industrial venue with lots of character. The rooftop ceremony location with water views was the perfect setting for Melody and Mitch’s Micro wedding in Tampa, FL. We are so excited to share this couple’s story of how this micro wedding came to life below!

THE PROPOSAL:
It was such a sweet surprise and a day I’ll never forget! One of our favorite things to do is take walks around our neighborhood together. One Saturday night we were walking home after a dinner date when Mitch suggested taking the long way home. We were enjoying the cool weather and the full moon when next thing I knew, he was down on one knee! Many happy tears later I finally figured out what was happening. It felt like a dream. I still have no idea how he hid my ring in our tiny apartment!

THE VISION:
We have always known that we wanted to get married outside. After we got engaged I came across Rooftop220 and my heart was set on it. The views of Tampa are spectacular! We picked light and neutral flowers to let the beauty of the venue shine through. My overall wedding vision was for the day to be relaxed, fun, and modern.

THE PLANNING PROCESS:
We came across Elope Tampa Bay in October and loved the idea of having an intimate ceremony. We decided on a mini wedding with our parents and siblings this year and then in the future we plan to have a dinner reception with more of our loved ones when the world is a little more normal again! Many of our family and friends weren’t able to be there in person but they made us feel so loved and supported from afar. Because our wedding was small we were able to be fully present and soak up the details that made our day so special. Our wedding cake was espresso flavored as a nod to many dates at coffee shops over the years! I picked champagne and white roses, baby’s breath, and ranunculus for our flowers and I was blown away by how beautiful they were. Picking out our wedding day music together was my favorite part of planning!

YOUR OUTFITS AND ACCESSORIES
Mitch wore a classic black suit from Express. I worse the Francois dress from Fame and Partners which is a sustainable, almost zero waste brand! I really loved the low back and draped shoulder detail. My favorite accessory was our Raybans. They were a Christmas gift to each other few years ago and we wanted to include them in our special day.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS
Getting ready together at home was so fun and took a lot of the stress off. We listened to the Time Crisis “Wedding!”playlist, shared some Prosecco, and did our first look on our patio. Walking down the aisle was so surreal. That was the moment everything really started to sink in!
