There is nothing as invigorating and refreshing as a hidden escape. Tucked away is a charming nursery, overflowing with lush greenery and plants. Wild Roots St. Pete is known for being one of the best places to elope in Florida and also known to Kylie and Joshua as where they were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Kylie and Joshua couldn’t resist how dreamy the location was and who could resist eloping with the surroundings of vibrant and unique decor.
WHAT WORDS WOULD YOU USE TO DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING?
Intimate, dreamy, personal, heart warming, magical

THE PROPOSAL
Josh and I traveled to Las Vegas to celebrate our one year anniversary, we took a day out of our trip and traveled to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I had never been before so the views were absolutely breathtaking but the truly breathtaking moment happened when Josh got down on one knee while a stranger was taking our picture. Josh froze in the moment as we just stared into each other’s eyes holding back tears, which lead to a funny story, and I said to him “I think you have to ask the question.” He asked, and I said yes immediately. It was extremely intimate and perfect.

THE VISION
We knew we wanted something intimate with our immediate family. Unfortunately Josh’s family lives in Australia and my family lives all over the country so we knew something with just us, the ability to truly embrace every second of the day, while making it the most memorable day of our life would be perfect for us.

THE PLANNING PROCESS
The planning was super simple, every brides dream. I had contacted a few elopement companies in the Central Florida are while we were deciding exactly where and what we wanted to do. As I talked to Melanie with Elope Tampa Bay, I knew that their package and location options were perfect for Josh and I. The Tampa area was just far enough away from our home on the East coast of Florida that the weekend would be a perfect getaway for us two. The second I saw Wild Roots and pictures of previous weddings there I knew it would set the scene for our dreamy wedding. The environment looked so calming and romantic. Once we decided on a date and time Melanie did everything for Josh and I and it was absolutely the most simple process I could have imagined. We were still able to pick the intimate parts of our ceremony to make it all about us while taking the stress of contacting and booking all the vendors off our shoulders. I can’t speak more highly of the planning process and how it truly turned into our dream. We were able to plan a zoom video for our family to watch the ceremony so even though they weren’t there in person they got to experience our day with us.

YOUR OUTFITS AND ACCESSORIES
My dress came from Lulu’s, I wanted something simple and elegant. It was the perfect goddess-like dress for the day. Josh wore a simple black suit, nothing fancy, but a perfect fit for our vision.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS
There are so many from the entire day. It was a completely intimate and personal day for the two of us. From beginning our afternoon with Melissa, our photographer, making us laugh and watching our day unfold in front of eyes. To the moment we walked through the doors at Wild Roots the sheer beauty of the location and the energetic personality of our officiant. I personally can say that some of my favorite moments were the traditional wedding moments that weren’t taken from us, even with having an elopement. Our first dance to our chosen song, cake cutting and champagne toasting, a personal family tradition of mine, all the aspects I didn’t want to lose. The truly most memorable was talking to our families on zoom after the ceremony, while we were physically alone our hearts were full with love and we felt the support of our families that were all around the world.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES
If you’re even thinking about or considering an elopement, do it. Do not doubt the beauty of an elopement. It is the best decision we could have made when it came to our ceremony.
