5 Reasons Why You Should Be Considering a Weekday Wedding

February 9, 2021

Weekend weddings are most popular when it comes to planning, but that doesn’t mean you have to rule out Monday through Friday. In fact, there are some major benefits to planning a weekday wedding! We’re sharing our top five reasons to consider a weekday wedding below.

You Won’t Be Fighting the Crowds

If you’re planning to tie the knot in a park, at a hotel or beach location, chances are that you’ll find fewer people around during the week. This can be particularly important for beach weddings, as there’s nothing more annoying than waiting for a tourist to move along while shooting your wedding photos. For national parks and hotel venues, there will usually be much more availability and lower fees when planning for a weekday soiree.

Secure Your Venue and Save

Let’s face it — most venues book up quickly (sometimes more than a year in advance!) which can be frustrating when planning your wedding or elopement. Here’s the bright side! Not only will there be more dates to consider on the calendar during the week, but you’ll more than likely score a discount on the venue cost, and food or beverage minimums required since it’s not a weekend.

Hire the Vendors You Really Want

It’s heartbreaking when you fall in love with a certain photographer or florist only to find out they are booked for your wedding date! This is another huge perk of a wedding during the week — you’ll have more vendor options to choose from since you won’t be competing with their weekend schedule. Plus, travel costs for your vendors could be lower since they would be traveling during the week.

Reserve the Best Seats For Your Eats

Skip the line and grab your seat! There are always more dining options available on weekdays rather than weekends. If you’re considering a location that’s a tourist hot spot, this is especially important for you. Looking to book a private room at a restaurant? You’ll likely enjoy lower food and beverage minimum costs when you go to reserve a weekday date.

Cut Down on Travel Costs

Planning a destination wedding or elopement? Chances are that your travel costs for airlines, hotels and rental cars will be lower than any weekend or holiday pricing. Don’t forget that most airlines may offer upgrade options for flights that aren’t as full during the week. Be sure to communicate with your airline ahead of time if you’re planning to fly with your wedding dress.
