So you’ve got the dress, the details are planned and now — what to wear for shoes?! Whether you’re planning a beach elopement or a rooftop setting, we’re rounding up some serious shoe inspo for you to consider before the big day!
No-Sink Sandals
Picture this: You chose a gorgeous dress and a beautiful pair of heels to wear for your outdoor wedding, only to have them sink into the ground as soon as you step on the grass. Don’t let this be you on your wedding day! For our brides considering a Florida park for your elopement, this is extremely important. If you’re going the sandals route, don’t wear ones that irritate your toes or are likely to cause blisters on the back of your heels (you know which ones we’re talking about!).
Graceful on the Golf Course
Depending on the time of day (and year!) that you’re getting married, Florida’s tropical weather can be a bit unpredictable. In the mornings and after rain showers, golf courses can be extremely slippery. Save yourself the hassle and opt for a pair of ballet flats! Not only do they provide great grip and comfort, but you’ll never have to worry about sinking or getting stuck around the course terrain.
For A Rooftop Soiree
Whether you’re dressing for your elopement on top of The Birchwood or an after party on the JW Marriott rooftop, you’ll have a little more flexibility with picking the perfect shoe. If you’ve had your eye on a gorgeous pair of stilettos, wear them! But, we highly recommend adding a comfort insole if you plan to be on your feet for most of the day. You’ll thank us later!
Barefoot Beach Elopement
There’s no better feeling than sand squishing between your toes! Beach elopements are the perfect opportunity to go barefoot. Sandy beaches can be unpredictable and you don’t want to be wobbling down the aisle. There are so many beautiful embroidered “beach sandal” options on Etsy if you want to add a little flair to your feet.
The Classic Sneaker
Heels not your thing? Grab your sneaks! They are a perfect option for any of the parks and gardens around Tampa Bay that you may be considering for your elopement. Not to mention, they are the BEST idea for your after party! If you’re ready to tear it up on the dance floor, have a pair of sneakers handy so you can break it down with your guests.
Rainy Day Boots
Let’s face it, Florida weather can change in the matter of a few hours. If you’re planning a wedding during the rainier months of the year, bring along a pair of cute rain boots to keep your feet dry! Plus, they make for an adorable photo opportunity if it ends up raining on your day. Grab a clear umbrella and have some fun!
At the end of the day, it won’t matter what shoes you’re wearing if they’re not comfortable. When picking footwear, you’ll want to ensure that you’ll be ok potentially wearing your elopement shoe of choice all day long!
