We are pretty much head over heels with this charming elopement, held at this quaint venue. Shelby and Sophie escaped and celebrated their love in a nature getaway at Wild Roots Nursery. From the intimate feel of their ceremony, to the laughs and cheers they shared through out the day, you can’t help but feel inspired by their love and the decision this couple made. To top off their newlywed status the couple sealed their celebratory day by popping champagne and kissing in the rain.
WHAT WORDS WOULD YOU USE TO DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING?
Intimate, Stress free, Beautiful, Calm, Well planned.
Shelby proposed to Sophie in York England on January 4th at the ruins of St Marys Abbey. It was a rainy afternoon and we had drank a couple of mulled wines that Sophie realized afterwards we’re to calm Shelby’s nerves. Shelby nearly put the ring on the wrong hand, Sophie cried the whole time, and Shelby sneakily videoed it on her iPhone stuck in a hole in the wall. Romance at its finest. Sophie proposed to Shelby during pride month, on the 6th anniversary of Obergefell vs. Hodges, at the Memphis 901 FC pride game in June. Where we were surrounded by our closest friends, a lots of rainbows, and so much love.
We loved greenery, small, minimalistic, modern with a whimsical edge, intimate.
THE PLANNING PROCESS
The easiest process in the entire world! The whole process was so easy, and so stress free. We had every faith that Catie and Elaina would plan the wedding that we both envisioned. And they definitely exceeded our expectations!
YOUR OUTFITS AND ACCESSORIES
Shelby: My jumpsuit was Adrianna Papelle and i bought it from Bride and Groom in Columbus MS. Dresses have never really been my thing, and i wanted to get a jumpsuit that I could customize on my own. I was worried about how Sophie and I’s different styles might come together on our wedding day, but it worked out so perfectly.
Sophie: My dress was Mori Lee and I bought it at Low’s Bridal in Brinkley AR. I wanted something that wasn’t super traditional and i fell in LOVE with the Smokey lavender color. It ended up working perfectly with our venue and it was perfect with Shelby’s jumpsuit!

Our first look
When we think of our wedding we remember ever single part of it, which is something that we love. – breaking out the umbrellas to take photos outside in the rain- going to the brewery across the street once it was all over.
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES
We would 100% recommended eloping to everyone and then throw a big party later. You get to have all those intimate moments with your partner (and guest should you have them), and it makes a special occasion even more special.
