A Fairytale Elopement At Granada Terrace Park

April 24, 2023

WHAT WORDS WOULD YOU USE TO DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING?
I would describe the wedding as simple and intimate.

THE PROPOSAL:
Kenton and I are high school sweethearts and have only lived in FL for less than 2 years. Thanksgiving 2021 his family was visiting from Texas and he proposed at the Sunken Gardens here in St Pete. It was so simple and beautiful. We followed with dinner and spent the weekend celebrating with our closest family members.

THE VISION:
I’ve always loved classic weddings. White flowers, white details, like from those cheesy 90’s movies. When planning our wedding, I wanted to have that same feeling of intimacy and happiness. We went back and forth for so long about whether or not to do a big wedding. I kept coming back to the same conclusion that I would spend the majority of the day away from the people I wanted to spend time with the most. I wanted to be able to be squished at one table with all of my family, soaking in every minute.

THE PLANNING PROCESS:
I had reached out to Elope TB to inquire about the whole process. We loved everything about the proposal sent over, but had a hard time narrowing down a time everyone could fly in. Once we decided on a date, everything went into motion. I kept saying “I feel like I should be doing something”, but the Elope team truly had everything covered. My husband and I were able to visit the Terrace before officially signing and knew the spot was perfect. I filled out a questionnaire and they were able to execute my vision exactly.

YOUR OUTFITS AND ACCESSORIES
I went to soooo many dress stores and found my dress at David’s Bridal. I went in on a whim and was able to find exactly what I had been picturing. I wanted a simple, timeless dress that I would feel like myself in. Kenton’s suit was Navy Blue by the brand Murano. My mom gave me my ‘something blue’ which was an angel charm with a picture of my Grandma Linda that I pinned to my bouquet. I wore the same tiara my mom wore to her and my Dad’s wedding. My rings were also my Grandma Linda’s that she left to me. I loved that all the details had meaning, it is so special to me to be able to wear items that include so many wonderful memories.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS
The whole day went seamlessly, I was so worried about showing up without meeting anyone, but the Elope TB team had everything covered. Kenton and I were truly so excited to get married. The entire day was the culmination of years of anticipation. Everyone who showed up for us shared equally in our excitement and happiness. I remember our dads hugging and saying “we’re family now” – smiling ear to ear. It was so much more than I imagined, more than the two of us, it was everyone who supports us and loves us all together as one.

Another memorable moment for us was the photography. In the moment, you are laughing and joking, but getting the pictures back – I feel like they truly show how we feel. Miranda did an incredible job highlighting the realness of our day. She is really incredible at her job.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES
If you are thinking of having a small wedding – DO IT!! I will never ever regret getting to spend every second of that day with the people I love most. I have all the most important memories of a large wedding without the stress, planning, or price. Think about what your priorities are and then go from there.
